Fans of rich, full-bodied California Cabernet will flip over the latest 90 point vintage of the High Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Located two hours north of San Francisco, the High Valley AVA sits at 3,000 feet above sea level with a ring of mountains surrounding a volcanic valley. Back in the 1870s, High Valley created a name for itself as one of California’s largest wine producing regions, and today produces amazing Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from two estate vineyards, Cabernet from Betsy’s vineyard and Caldwell Block 12 are powerful, yet complex. A northwest facing slope allows longer ripening time, resulting in an intensely structured wine. Using a majority of French oak, the barrels are chosen to lift the fruit and add nice toasted spices to the finish. You can taste the pedigree as we've paired this side-by-side with $40 bottles!
Wine Enthusiast: 90 Points
"This wine wraps ripe black cherries and tempting dark chocolate in good acidity and moderate tannins for great balance. It's full bodied but vibrant, showcasing the black-fruit and subtle oak nuances." The Wine Enthusiast, 90 Points
